TÜV SÜD Singapore increases cybersecurity testing

TÜV SÜD’s Singapore affiliate, TÜV SÜD PSB, has successfully extended their Cybersecurity Testing and Certification scopes to include ETSI EN 303 645 under the IECEE CB scheme.

According to TÜV SÜD PSB, it is one of the first National Certification Bodies (NCBs) and CB Testing Laboratories (CBTLs) to be granted the IECEE CB Recognition for ETSI EN 303 645 — Cybersecurity for Consumer Internet of Things (IoT): Baseline Requirements.

It means that TÜV SÜD is now recognised by IECEE CB to conduct testing for consumer-connected products against ETSI EN 303 645, to issue CB-type test reports and CB certificates for compliance with this standard, the testing company said.

According to TÜV SÜD, ETSI EN 303 645 is an internationally recognised standard that establishes critical cybersecurity requirements for Consumer IoT (CIoT) devices and serves as a foundation for IoT certification schemes in different regions.

Meanwhile, the IECEE CB scheme acts as a global framework for mutual acceptance of test reports and certificates regarding the safety of electrical and electronic components, equipment, and products.

The scheme also promotes the harmonisation of national standards with International Standards and cooperation among accepted NCBs worldwide.

Richard Hong, CEO of TÜV SÜD ASEAN, said, "With the rise in demand for connected devices, our enhanced capabilities will empower manufacturers to navigate complex regulatory requirements and deliver innovative products for consumers worldwide.

“This expansion marks a significant milestone in our commitment to ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in the evolving cybersecurity landscape. We look forward to driving advancements in CIoT testing and certification to foster a safer and more reliable connected future."
