TÜV SÜD approved for cloud computing certification

Certification company TÜV SÜD America has joined the cloud computing standards agency, CSA, meaning it can now provide cloud computing audits.

TÜV SÜD America, the North American subsidiary of TÜV SÜD, said it has been approved as a certification body for CSA, which stands for the Cloud Security Alliance.

The certification company has been approved to audit cloud service providers for CSA Star Level Two Certifications “allowing TÜV SÜD to provide a holistic cybersecurity certification service from CE Marking to IT Infrastructure through to Cloud,” it said in a statement.

The Cloud Security Alliance is the world’s leading organization dedicated to defining and raising awareness of best practices for secure cloud computing.

TÜV SÜD, meanwhile, has been providing cybersecurity auditing services since 2001.

John Tesoro, president and CEO of TÜV SÜD America, said: "Offering this certification expands our ability for us serve a marketplace where there is a heightened sensitivity to cyber threats. Our organization is dedicated to expanding our cyber security portfolio across the Americas to make sure we can serve our customers' needs in a comprehensive and proactive way."

Greg Bates, TÜV SÜD’s director of business assurance for North America, added: "We understand that our customers want to fully demonstrate the level of security for their cloud service offerings, and the safety and integrity of their data collection. Th CSA Star accreditation allows us to provide an unbiased, third-party assessment to provide that assurance to the market.”
