TÜV SÜD appoints new Americas CEO

Global testing and certification company TÜV SÜD has announced the appointment of Dr Fabian Schober as its new CEO for the Americas.

The company, which said the appointment was “effective immediately,” said that Schober was previously CFO of the Americas region, a role which he was appointed to in 2017.

TÜV SÜD said it was “confident that Dr Schober's leadership and expertise will be instrumental in driving the company's growth and success in the Americas,” noting that he would be based in the company's regional headquarters in Wakefield, Massachussets.

"We are thrilled to welcome Dr Schober to this new role at TÜV SÜD," said Ishan Palit, TÜV SÜD Global COO. "His proven track record in the region and deep experience in the industry make him the ideal leader to drive our growth and success in this important market."

Schober first joined the company in 2008, starting in Corporate M&A, before serving as the CFO of TÜV SÜD Rail and then the CFO of the Real Estate & Infrastructure division.

The new appointment comes a month after TÜV SÜD announced the appointment of a new chair, Dr Johannes Bussmann, the former CEO of Lufthansa Technik, who took over from Dr Axel Stepken in early January.

TÜV SÜD is one of the world’s biggest testing, inspection and certification (TIC) companies, with more than 25,000 employees working in some 50 countries worldwide.
