Samsung displays achieve TÜV carbon certification

Three Samsung display products have received a carbon footprint certification from TÜV Rheinland’s North America division, the electronics giant said.

The certification was awarded for Samsung's LED Display, the Wall All-in-One IAB 110 2K, and its Crystal UHD Signage QM50C. All the products are part of Samsung's Digital Experience Division and were awarded TÜV’s Product Carbon Footprint.

Samsung said the certification was “a testament to Samsung's commitment to environmentally friendly practices in the technology industry.”

The certificate presentation took place during the InfoComm 2023 event, the largest professional audiovisual trade show in North America.

Scott Griggs, strategic marketing and communication manager products, and Brigitte Aleman, marketing manager products at TÜV Rheinland North America, presented the certificate to Hyeong-gyu Park, head of enterprise PM group for Samsung North America.

At the InfoComm event, taking place in Orlando, Samsung showcased some of their latest advancements in television, monitor, commercial signage, and audio/video products. The Product Carbon Footprint certification provided by TÜV Rheinland allows companies to quantify and document the environmental impact of their products.

TÜV Rheinland's certification process involves quantifying and reporting the carbon footprint of a product (CFP) in accordance with international standards and emissions factors. According to TÜV, this empowers organizations to calculate and understand their products' carbon footprints and engage with stakeholders interested in the environmental impact of the products they consume.
