Pfeiffer Vacuum breaks ground on HQ expansion

Vacuum technology supplier Pfeiffer Vacuum has broken ground on a new of a state-of-the-art industrial complex at its headquarters in Asslar, Germany.

The centerpiece of the development is an 8,000-square-meter logistics center with an integrated, fully-automated warehouse. The expansion will also include an additional production and service area covering an area of 1,000 square meters.

According to Pfeiffer, the new logistics center should be completed in 2024. Part of an existing building will be modernized over the same time frame.

The development is being built with sustainability target of achieving net neutrality by 2030.As such, the development will feature the inclusion of photovoltaic systems throughout the project, with the solar power generated from them fed back into the company’s own power network.

Heat generated by the production facilities will also be recovered, with charging stations for employees’ electric vehicles also planned at the site.
