Virtual conference aims to ‘demystify’ EMC testing

Test equipment and services company Rohde & Schwarz are set to hold their annual one-day virtual conference on electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) next month.

Known as ‘Demystifying EMC,’ the industry event is scheduled for February 6 and will feature a program of EMC industry expert sessions from Rohde & Schwarz and partners from the commercial and academic worlds.

The conference will feature technical presentations, workshops, and live Q&A discussions and will cover the latest updates in CISPR, RED, ANSI, ISO, MIL, and Medical EMC standards, as well as approaches to testing, design, risk management, and compliance.

Following a keynote by Rohde & Schwarz executive vice president Christina Gessner, there will be morning sessions on subjects including establishing and maintaining in-house test capabilities for EMC compliance, understanding calibration and calibration services, and qualifying equipment according to US FCC and EU RED regulations.

Additional sessions will cover testing small satellites for space missions and testing vehicles using the latest reverberation chamber methods.

Rohde & Schwarz said that the afternoon session will cover updates to CISPR and ISO standards, a practical demonstration of conducted emissions testing, EMC immunity testing challenges, and the latest updates in medical and automotive testing.
