Services include electrical safety, environmental, materials, endurance and wireless electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing for lighting.

Its accreditation range allows for the testing and certification of lighting products. These include IEC/EN standards such as 60598-1 Luminaires – general requirement, 60598-2-1 Luminaires – fixed general purpose, 60598-2-2 Luminaires – recessed and 61347-2-11 Miscellaneous electronics for lighting, among others. It also covers UL Standards, such as UL 1598 (Luminaires), UL 153, (Portable Electric Luminaires), UL 8750, (LED Equipment for Use in Lighting Products), and UL 2108, (Low Voltage Lighting Systems).

The new lab space utilises the latest equipment and expertise of UL Solutions lighting engineers and technicians, according to UL Solutions. In 2023, the company opened lab space to test products from lighting manufacturers and distributors at its UK facility. Commercial electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and wireless testing was already conducted at the lab but the additional space allows for connected products and systems to be analysed under one roof.

With the new capabilities offered in the UK, UL Solutions indicated it can provide testing and certification to IEC and North American standards for UK businesses exporting products and global businesses importing products to the UK. UL Solutions noted that experts can assist with Safety testing and certification, Performance testing and certification, UL Marketing Claim Verification and Global Market Access.
