TCL reveals tech behind new Mini LED TVs

Tech company TCL has offered some insights into the technology behind its newest Mini LED television.

The Chinese tech giant lifted the lid on the design innovations of its 4K Mini LED TV, which launched earlier this month in Europe and is expected to be available in other global markets soon.

TCL, one of the first companies to develop and launch Mini LED TVs, said the TV features a high-voltage Mini LED chip that is “designed to emit light in 3 PN junctions in series, with the driving voltage carefully matched so that the current passing through the LED chip falls within the optimal light efficiency range.”

“As a result, the temperature can still be controlled, and TV set does not overheat when the LEDs are in full operation and the TV is in its peak brightness at the same time,” TCL added in a press release.

C845 features an advanced lens design “which allows, in the same light control area, more uniform pictures, more reliable performance when both the module and TV achieve their smallest thickness.”

Moreover, the TV is fitted with a light control algorithm to regulate the light emission of the TV, which TCL said it improves efficiency and reduces the risk of eye strain in the viewer.

“Under the high dual-mode drive, the current of LED can be kept in the range of high luminous efficiency to achieve energy saving and spectral stability,” TCL said.
