According to SGS, it signed a contract renewal for the provision of pre-export verification of conformity (PVoC) services for Cameroon.

Cameroon’s pre-shipment conformity assessment program (PECAE) for imported goods has existed since 2015 and ensures quality surveillance, and prevents the importation of dangerous goods.

SGS was the first testing services company appointed to administer the program, which has now been extended to cover all products imported into Cameroon.

The latest contract renewal signed with Cameroon’s Agence des Normes et de la Qualité (ANOR) “demonstrates the satisfaction and confidence that the Cameroonian national authorities have in our processes and integrity,” SGS said.

To coincide with the contract renewal, SGS held a recent complimentary webinar earlier this year, attended by over 300 participants from the EU, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

The session provided practical advice on the program and included a Q&A session. SGS said that owing to interest from exporters, another session will be scheduled for the second quarter of 2024.

SGS are not the only the testing, inspection and certification (TIC) company vetting products for the West African nation. Last year, Cameroon appointed TÜV Rheinland to conduct testing of products – including electronics. The appointment permits TÜV Rheinland to perform conformity verification, inspection and certification processes for export shipments and regulated products to Cameroon.
