The 2.2-acre facility at Chakan in Pune offers an extensive range of advanced testing services with large capacities.
The new site is mainly the focused on automotive testing and will be SGS’s largest greenfield lab for the quality testing of automotive components and one of the largest automotive testing labs in India.
However, state-of-the-art semi-anechoic chambers and equipment installed at the site mean the lab can also cater to the EMI/EMC and wireless testing requirements of India’s consumer electronics industry, SGS said.
In addition to its testing capabilities, the lab features various in-house facilities, including customer lounge and pantry, guest room and an engineering facility to debug and rework.
The facility was also built with various sustainable design features including a rainwater harvesting system deployed at the site, a rooftop solar plant with a capacity of 340 kWp and EV charging ports installed on the premises.
