SGS said that the acquisition, which was effective May 1, allows the company to reinforce its presence in North America and to strengthen the group’s leadership in the dynamic connectivity industry.
Headquartered in North Carolina and with 75 full-time employees, ArcLight Wireless provides systems engineering, network services, technical outsourcing and field testing for the wireless industry.
SGS announced the acquisition in its first quarter earnings report. According to the report, the company had experienced “strong organic growth” in the first quarter of 2024 of 7.1 percent. In reported terms, sales were down 2.1 percent compared to the same period last year. Overall sales reached 1,577 million Swiss Francs (US$1,729).
The company said that sustainability, digital trust, supply chain services and increased regulations had supported the strong organic growth, in line with industry megatrends, with all divisions and regions contributed to this positive performance.
The earnings report is the first since new CEO Géraldine Picaud took over. Picaud was appointed in March and immediately announced a new streamlined executive committee.
