The SGS lab in Branchburg, New Jersey, is now authorized to conduct OTA testing for 5G as well as 4G for the cell phone network.
The company said the T-Mobile authorization expands its US OTA services, with SGS already providing OTA capabilities and approvals for wireless operators such as Verizon Wireless, Dish Wireless and AT&T in the country.
“Branchburg is the only OTA lab in the world able to perform radiated performance testing for the big four US operators in one location,” SGS said in a statement.
Besides the US expansion, SGS has also become the first approved Notified Body in the Gulf region for the provision of product conformity assessment (PCA) services for low voltage electrical equipment.
SGS is now mandated to provide a documentary check and assessment of conformity with the requirements of the applicable technical regulations and standards such as GSO and ISO/IEC in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, which includes Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman.
Low voltage electrical equipment covered by the mandate include washing machines, dishwashers and vacuum cleaners.
Under the ruling, SGS has also been approved for the certification of G Mark Certification for LVEs covering a range of household electronics including refrigerators, food grinders and mixers, ovens, and electric water heaters fans.
