According to a report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman (a respected Apple observer), the new iPad Pro is likely to appear in late March.

Besides the switch to OLED, the new device is also expected to feature a refined design language as well as  the latest-generation M3 processor that is already being used in some versions of the MacBook.

The Apple updates, which Bloomberg calls “the biggest revamp ever for the iPad Pro,” also includes a reported change in the position of the Face ID camera kit, with the camera repositioned along the longer edge of the tablet, which will move the front camera from a portrait to landscape orientation.

Apple is also reportedly set to introduce a new Magic Keyboard with a design that mimics the look of MacBooks with an externally visible aluminum chassis.

Earlier versions of the iPad Pro used LCD panels and, more recently, miniLED displays.

While OLED technology has for the most part been used for TVs, Apple is one of a number of tech companies now moving their smaller screen devices to the emissive display technology, which generally leads to notable improves in screen quality for saturation and contrast, as well being more energy efficiency.
