HEAD acoustics opens India subsidiary

Acoustic testing equipment specialists HEAD acoustics has expanded to India, with the opening of a new subsidiary in Chennai.

The satellite office will be run by a small team of four staff led by Manjula Srinivas. The office was opened to address the shortfall in acoustic testing of electronics, said HEAD acoustics.

“Until now, acoustic issues have received far less attention in all industrial sectors in India than in Europe or North America, for example,” the company said. “For the new Indian crew, the main task is therefore to sensitize industry partners to psycho-acoustic phenomena and to the huge optimization potential in all fields of application that HEAD acoustics can exploit with its own software and hardware solutions.”

The company added: “HEAD acoustics sees this consulting as the key to the large growth market of the future on this continent.”

The new offices are in Chennai in Tamil Nadu province. Chennai has a population of more than 4.5 million and is one of the three largest automotive manufacturing centers in India.

HEAD acoustics founder and shareholder Dr Klaus Genuit and commercial director Stephan Noth visited the new subsidiary to commemorate the launch.
