Gamma Scientific launches compact imaging camera for AR/VR/MR testing

Gamma Scientific has launched the NED E-Series GazeCam, the imaging core of its internationally acclaimed RoboticEye platform, now available as a standalone camera head.

This latest addition to the NED product family enables quick and convenient quality checks for AR, VR, and MR devices, delivering high-fidelity imaging in a compact form factor that easily integrates into existing laboratory or production setups.

The GazeCam uniquely mimics active human eye gaze when immersed in XR environments, replicating how the human eye perceives digital content through wearable eyewear devices. The optical design includes built-in accommodation for most common human eye prescriptions. When paired with the optional spectroradiometer, the system enables precise correlation to the foveal region, where human color perception is most acute. This correlated, user-centric imaging allows the evaluation of key device performance metrics that reflect real-world user experience in XR.

“We developed the GazeCam in direct response to growing customer demand for an advanced, standalone imaging system that brings the fidelity of our flagship RoboticEye platform to more flexible XR testing setups,” said Sonika Obheroi, Director of Product at Gamma Scientific. “This launch reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting the development of high-quality XR devices by making cutting-edge testing tools more accessible and easier to deploy within a rapidly evolving global ecosystem.”

Gamma Scientific’s NED solutions comply with the latest AR/VR metrology standards being developed by leading international committees, including the IEC TC110 and SID, where applicable.

Gamma Scientific will showcase the GazeCam at AWE USA in Long Beach, California, June 10-12, at Booth S8.
