Visitors gathered at the Element Surrey Hills site near Guildford, in southern England, for the open day, which included an official ribbon cutting, an exclusive site tour, plus demonstrations from Element’s experts. Customers, suppliers, technical experts and special guests were among the attendees alongside special guests, including Lord Jamie Lindsay, Chair of UKAS; Jonathan Lord, MP for Woking; and representatives from the Surrey Chambers of Commerce.

Element’s 25,000sq ft purpose-built location is designed to support advancements in consumer electronics, medical devices and wireless industries in Europe and beyond. The site increases its capacity for EMC, radio and wireless testing, and adds Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) testing to the service portfolio in Europe.

The new lab adds to the company’s existing 44 Connected Technologies and Mobility facilities in the UK, USA, Germany, South Korea and Japan, and its team of over 1,200 technology experts. Connected Technologies and Mobility services at Element span mobile and cellular devices, consumer electronics, the Internet of Things (IoT), telecommunications regulatory services, medical devices and automotive, among others.
