DisplayMate awards iPhone 13 Pro Max with best smartphone display following lab tests

DisplayMate, a world-leading organization for evaluating and testing display technologies based on industry standards, has rated the new iPhone 13 Pro Max as the best smartphone display following a series of lab tests and measurements. The phone also obtained an A+ grade in the performance tests.

The iPhone 13 range was introduced by Apple on September 14 and features the latest in a new generation of OLED displays. According to Apple, the iPhone 13 features an advanced Super Retina XDR OLED display, which is 28% brighter while being more power efficient.

The iPhone 13 Pro Max has a higher 120 Hz display refresh rate compared to 60 Hz for the iPhone 12 Pro Max. The refresh rate also changes automatically based on the image and picture content being displayed. The iPhone 13 Pro Max display also offers improvements in maximum brightness, color accuracy, and display power efficiency.

Following its lab tests, DisplayMate reported, “Based on our extensive lab tests and measurements, the iPhone 13 Pro Max delivers uniformly consistent top tier display performance and receives all green ratings in all DisplayMate lab test display performance and accuracy categories. As a result, the iPhone 13 Pro Max has earned DisplayMate’s highest overall display assessment rating and the highest display performance grade of A+.

"The iPhone 13 Pro Max has a very impressive excellent top tier world class smartphone display with close to textbook perfect calibration accuracy and performance that is visually indistinguishable from perfect,” it concluded.
