Nicholas Jones, Principal Technical Lead for Electrical Appliances, CSA Group Testing UK Ltd, focuses on the technical differences between different end-product applications and discussed some of the open issues still under development within the relevant standards committees.
The emphasis is on the IEC 60335 series of end-product safety standards for appliances, and its differences to other similar use end-product standards, such as IEC 62368-1 for Audio/video, information and communication technology equipment.
