CSA gains accreditation for Singapore testing lab

CSA Group’s Singapore lab has been approved to certify electronics including audio and video equipment by the Southeast Asian state’s national accreditation agency.

The testing and certification group said its laboratory there had received accreditation under the SAC-SINGLAS scheme run by the Singapore Accreditation Council (SAC) for three major product groups.

The Singapore Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (SAC-SINGLAS) accredits laboratories that can demonstrate compliance with its standards for laboratory practice and quality management systems.

The product group are: IT and office equipment, power supply and component; audio/video equipment; and electrical equipment for measurement, control, and laboratory use.

As a result of the accreditation, CSA said its test reports will now include the prestigious SAC-SINGLAS logo and “will be widely accepted by many markets worldwide through mutual recognition agreements (MRA).”

CSA Group said its Singapore operation is accredited to perform testing in accordance with IEC 61010, IEC 62368‑1 and IEC 60950-1 standards.

In a statement, CSA said: “In addition to our newly added certification services, both locally and globally, CSA Group Singapore provides efficient services for testing and certification requirements.

“Drawing upon our extensive experience in meeting the complex North American market requirements, CSA Group Singapore can address our customers’ North American certification needs, such as product certifications to North American standards, special inspections, and field evaluations (SIFE), and more.”
