The In-Sight 3800 vision system offers “an extensive vision toolset, powerful imaging capabilities, and flexible software to deliver a fully integrated solution for a wide range of inspection applications”, the US company said in a press release.
The product’s features include AI-based edge learning technology that Cognex said can be set up in minutes with just a handful of training images. The industry proven rule-based tools are well-suited to solve deterministic tasks with specific parameters.
The new product is powered by Cognex’s software platform In-Sight Vision Suite, a common platform across all In-Sight products.
The software suite features an intuitive, point-and-click interface to guide users through the development process and a spreadsheet application that “enables finetuning of job parameters for advanced or highly customized applications,” the company said.
“Flexible development options allow users to easily modify their application for new or changing requirements,” said Lavanya Manohar, Cognex’s vice president of vision products. “In doing so, In-Sight 3800 offers a scalable solution for addressing both current, and future, factory automation needs.”
