CET&D and UL join forces for safety standards webinar

Consumer Electronics Test & Development is hosting a webinar presentation next month by UL Solutions on electronics safety standards.

The webinar will be presented by Jakub Kącki, product/service manager for safety services in UL’s consumer technology division, and will cover requirements for the fourth edition of IEC 62368-1, the main international safety standard for consumer electronics products.

The IEC 62368-1 standard covers audio/video, information, and communication technology equipment, including office appliances, telecommunications equipment, IT for data centers, musical instruments and AV/ICT components. It superseded legacy safety standards IEC 60950-1 (ICT) and 60065 (AV) in the EU, US and Canada when it was brought in in 2020.

During the webinar, Kącki will draw on his 17 years of experience at UL to offer insights on the changes ushered in by the IEC 62368-1 fourth edition, and strategies and advise for compliance best practice.

Kącki works with UL’s commercial, operations and field services departments to drive the development of safety-related services and programs for batteries, information technology equipment, consumer electronics products, micromobility and others.

The webinar will take place July 18 at 2pm UK time. Anyone wishing to take part in the event can sign up here.
