Atlas reveals instrument and software updates

Atlas Material Testing Solutions has released updates to its material testing technologies including a new “sealed lamp” for its Ci4400 Weather-Ometer.

According to Atlas, the preassembled sealed lamp for the Ci4400 and its predecessor Ci4000, which are both used for weather durability testing, will make operation and maintenance of the devices much easier.

Other technology updates – all of which were published in the latest edition of Atlas’s newsletter – include the availability of Atlas’ proprietary data acquisition software for its range of legacy Weather-Ometers – Ci3000s, Ci4000s, and Ci5000s as well for the Ci4400.

Atlas said the data acquisition software would be broadened to all Xenotest models and SUNTEST XLS+ and XXL+ instruments in Q4 2023. It said the software would permit users to access live and archived test and instrument data from anywhere in the world, at anytime.

Atlas also said its Xenotest 220+ standard performance has been expanded to include the testing of polymers and coatings.

The newsletter also contained details about Atlas Weathering Services Group’s new express service operated by its accelerated weathering and lightfastness testing laboratory in Linsengericht-Altenhasslau, Germany.

The German lab can offer 24-hour turnaround quoting and 48-hour up time on most new tests. The lab provides testing solutions for most automotive exterior and interior test methods, solar thermal cycling tests such as MIL 810H 505.7 Procedure II, standard xenon test methods for outdoor paints, coatings and plastics, textile and footwear, cosmetics and pharmaceutical.
