According to a report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman – a reliable source for Apple leaks – the company’s approach will incorporate AI into its core apps and features, including Photos, Messages, Notes and the Safari browser. Gurman indicated it will deal with voice memo transcriptions and give recaps of meetings, text messages, emails and articles. AI-created emojis are said to be on the agenda.

Apple’s AI product Siri is also set for an overhaul with its own large language models (an underlying technology behind generative AI), according to a report. Gurman said this will allow Siri to control individual features within applications for the first time, so an iPhone’s AI will evaluate what the user is doing and allow Siri to help. For example, users could ask Siri to delete or forward an email. Although Gurman predicted that Apple plans to push out several AI features this Autumn with iOS18, upgraded Siri capabilities aren’t anticipated until next year.

The company will host its annual Worldwide Developers Conference online from June 10 through 14. Developers and students will also have the opportunity to celebrate in person at a special event at Apple Park on opening day. WWDC24 will bring the global Apple developer community together to provide them with insights into the latest technologies, tools, and frameworks coming to iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, visionOS and watchOS, noted Apple.
