Apple ‘developing TV with built-in camera’

Apple is reportedly working on a hybrid Apple TV and HomePod streaming device with a built-in camera for FaceTime.

According to TechRadar, the new hybrid device would replace the Apple TV 4K and would be similar to Facebook Portal TV from Meta, a device that already allows users to make calls through popular apps like Messenger.

The rumor of a new hybrid Apple TV has been circulating for some time, according to TechRadar.

The latest report to repeat the rumor was by the Bloomberg technology journalist Mark Gurman in his newsletter.

According to Gurman, the hybrid would be “a device that combines a HomePod, Apple TV and FaceTime camera … [that] will probably be at the center of Apple's approach, with HomePod minis surrounding that throughout the home.”

Apple has not confirmed these reports and there is no information on how soon we could expect to see such a device reach market.
